I am Andrea the face of Freckles and Daisies, it’s my birthday today and I am 48 years young! (I sometimes forget) I am super proud to be writing my 1st ever blog before I go for a pub lunch with my family and logan our energetic Jack Russell (ok he can be noisy)! I started my little business in 2014 on the kitchen table around screaming kids and now we make incredible newborn outfits and children’s clothes- I love with a passion creating clothes kids love and I love being a mum to my 2 little angels Finlay 11 and Mabel 10.
My Inspiration
My inspiration and creative nature came my mum who was incredible! She was a dressmaker for top shop and French connection. I would show my mum a picture of an outfit in vogue magazine, we would go to Hitchin market to buy fabric and I would have designer trousers for a Saturday night out. When Mabel was born, I made newborn outfits and dresses exactly like my mum did for me.
14 Years working in High Street Brands
I followed in her footsteps and spent 14 years in the ‘fashion’ industry learning my craft as a buyer/designer for high street brands and was fortunate enough to travel the world. I had a blast and have some hilarious stories to tell, like meeting a Bollywood star and member of the Indian parliament at a supplier’s house party in India!! We sang the night away together karaoke style!!
I have so many funny stories………Share, Stay and sign up to our newsletters if you want to hear more!
After having my 2 wonderful children I needed more flexibility to juggle the demands of working around the kids. I quit my job and Freckles and Daisies was born in 2014, which has always been a dream for me.
You are incredible!
There are so many questions we have being a mum to a newborn baby and my blogs will aim to entertain and help answer some of your questions using reputable sources to support my blogs. Some days being a mum can be difficult and just know, you are incredible and it’s true to say we are all figuring out being the best parent we can be together!
A question you may have- What do Newborn babies wear?
Clothes should be comfortable, soft and easy to take care of. Clothes that are made from a high quality cotton are a good choice as they are soft and kind to your newborns sensitive skin. Getting your hospital bag ready and choosing your babies first ever newborn outfit is such a memorable moment that you will remember forever.
What about sizing for my Baby?
Keep in mind that your newborn baby is likely to outgrow newborn outfits in a few weeks/ months, some babies start straight in the 0-3 month sizes. It’s a good idea to buy a range of sizes and unisex newborn outfits if you are waiting to find out the sex.
Sizes do vary from brand to brand so always check the label and packaging. Please see a link below to bounty.com for sizing for newborn outfits and information below:
