The Biggest Week So Far In F&D History, ‘Pinch Me Moments’ At Indx Kidswear Show

On July 3-4^th we attended Indx Kidswear show based in Birmingham.

Indx is the biggest Children’s show in Europe and Childrens Boutiques come looking for new brands to stock in their beautiful shops. This was our opportunity to showcase F&D, in that we are a ‘Children’s Clothes UK brand’ making Clothes Kids Love here in the UK. There were over 150 exhibitors form all over Europe who came to showcase their brand, so we were now showcasing our range alongside some truly great big brands!! Wow!!

After 2 years of brands not being able to showcase their products, everyone had gone to the extra effort from the organisers to every exhibitor, making sure the Children’s Boutique owners had the best possible experience.

The F&D Army and our Little family of helpers worked hard towards indx

Indx is a 2 day event and the weeks leading up to it were the busiest ever. As all you superhero mums know, days of juggling kids with work and playgroups/ clubs are always a challenge at the best of times. Every one of our small army of workers and our little family of helpers were truly incredible in making sure we were in our best shape at indx.

You know when you get that feeling and you must pinch yourself!

We found ourselves in the mix of the big international brands, opposite us was well known colourful household names, Hatley with a gigantic stand - no expense spared, next to us was ‘Lily and Sid’ and Turtle dove, represented by the lovely Liz. These are huge brands known across the globe with teams of designers and marketeers.

‘A pinch me moment’ and I ask myself is this really happening?

All those years of:

• Crafting what we do,
• Understanding who our customer is and
• Making sure we make products that kids and their mums love with the F&D love/passion stitched into every item.

We did not have the budgets of the big brands but with our creative nature, you tube and a glue gun we crafted loads of Daisies, printed out special customer pics which helped to make our stand pop out in the crowds.

Did you actually make this?

This was a question from the majority of Children Boutique owners we met, they could not believe my reply, when I said I made it they were amazed. We had such a great response from our Autumn Winter Range for 2022/23 (see above) and the fact we are a Children’s Clothes UK Brand based here in the UK who also make all our products here in the UK, was so important to them.

Connecting with so many lovely independent shop owners face to face is something you can’t take for granted and when you see their animation or reaction to the quality as well as the print you know everything was worth it!  Our best reaction prints below:

What were my top 3 moments at Indx?

• Seeing the Vision of the stand come together after years of planning and that we curated our best collection yet.
• Meeting so many new children boutique owners and listening to their story. Also having our current stockists visit to place orders was a proud moment.
• An independently owned department store in Sheffield called Atkinsons (150 year history) where Clive Hester the MD was looking around our stand with so much interest and intrigue. We are proud to say they have decided to stock us- A true Pinch me moment!
